Wow, I haven't been here in months. It sure feels weird.
So for an update:
Moxie's: Worst training sessions I have ever experienced. It was an inclass training lesson for two weeks straight, 4 hours a day. I was exhausted! I would work from 10am - 3pm at my morning job and head straight to training at Moxie's from 5pm - 9pm. We were tested every single day on the previous lessons. If we failed any of the tests, we are forced to rewrite the tests until we passed. Eventually everyone began to cheat. I will admit it was pretty funny when everyone was cheating. Some of the trainers helped us cheat or were absolutely oblivious. Eventually we opened in mid-October. When we finally had the opportunity to serve, the experience was improving. I had the opportunity to meet new people and I was able to socialize with my co-workers and guests.
Eventually, I began to hate it. The managers were very unprofessional, in terms of their behaviour and how they ran the restaurant. My GM had the nerve to tell some of the girls that they needed a better push up bra, to show more clevage or to shorten their skirts. They would fire people over the phone for the most ridiculous reasons; calling in sick to take their grandmother to the hospital, etc. I had a friend who resigned her position and the GM said, "that is probably for the better, you were struggling anyways." I'm sorry, but who says things like that?
So in the end, approximately 2 Months later, I ended up quitting the job.
Helping Hand: I'm enjoying it. I have been given more responsibility. I'm hoping this will result in higher pay! I have nothing to complain about the job. My co-workers and managers are fun and laid back.
I'm having such a difficult time saving money. I finally signed up for ING savings account. I'm hoping to reach my goal. I hate paying off debts. Stupid credit cards. I need to live without them but I can't help but use them.
I'm very excited. I'm going to dominican in exactly 20 days! Yay! An entire week to relax on the beach and have a good time.
I need to find a new hobbie. I have considered picking up photography as a hobbie but I'm not sure yet. I am kind of stuck on money right now, so an SLR is out of the question right now.
I went rock climbing on Saturday for the first time and it was a lot of fun. I was very sore the next day but that is one workout I wouldn't mind doing everyday. Unfortunately it is quite far for me. I went to Rock Oasis on Bathurst and Front, downtown, Toronto. Too bad there wasn't a closer location for me attend to.
School: man, oh man, I'm behind on some reading but this week/weekend is crunch time. I'll leave it at that.
I will be doing my wedding certificate in January. Scary, they consist of 2 in class lectures (11 hours each!), 2 week take home learning package and a final exam in the end. Let's hope it goes well! After the course, hopefully I'll have a better understanding of how the business works and I will know how start my career.
